The Art Of Love – Giving Wedding Gifts

Gifts or presents are a great way to show your loved ones they are special to you. Gifts can be defined as items you would give to another person voluntarily on a special occasion (although it is not entirely necessary and you could always give a gift to a person just because you want to, or just to show how special that person is to you). There are birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, wedding gifts, basically you can give a gift for just about any occasion. Everyone loves a present and it’s a great way to brighten someone’s day with.

Wedding gifts are gifts presented to the bride and groom by their closest friends and family members on the day that they celebrate their wedding. The wedding gifts are usually given at the reception by those who attend the wedding ceremony. For the friends or relatives who were unable to attend the wedding, the gifts could be given at a later time to the bride and groom.

How one would usually go about picking out perfect wedding gifts for the couple is to first remember exactly who they are buying for. As a friend or family member of the couple, you would know best what the couple likes or dislikes, which should give you a rough idea about what to give the couple as a gift. Usually, close friends and family members spend approximately $50 to $100 on a wedding gift, and if you are a member of the wedding party, you would spend slightly more than that, maybe $100 to $150 dollars perhaps. Of course this is entirely up to you, you are free to spend a little more if you wish and if budget is not a problem for you.

It used to be that in the old days, you would just purchase wedding gifts you thought were most appropriate for the couple, or something that they would like. Today though, life has been made much simpler, because of this thing called a wish list. The couple would come up with a pre-determined list of things they would like to receive as gifts for their wedding. Then all you as the guest would have to do is select the item you would like to give from the list that they have prepared. It’s a win-win situation in this matter. You would be saved the hassle of figuring out what to give the couple by selecting from the list of things they have already made clear they want, thereby ensuring that you are definitely giving them something they like as a wedding present.

One thing to remember about wedding presents is that they are going to be placed on a table somewhere in the venue, which will be on display for everyone to see. Everything about the wedding day and wedding atmosphere is going to be beautiful, from the decorations to just about everything else, and that includes the wedding presents. Make sure your wedding present is beautifully wrapped and presented at least, so it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb amongst all the other beautiful items.

Also, it is OK if you wish to give a joint gift of some sort to the couple. Say perhaps a few of you are all best friends with each other and the bride, all of you could consider getting something big as a joint gift from all of you. Of course, this is not often used because it somehow doesn’t seem entirely appropriate, but it is still fine in some cases, for example if you were on a budget, or the bride and grooms’ wish list consisted of something big that you know all of you could chip in together and help get.

Personalized gifts are also a fantastic idea to give as wedding gifts, because they will have a little touch of you in the gift, making it much more meaningful to the bride and groom. At the end of the day, that is all that really matters, that the gift comes from the heart because that is worth so much more than anything money could ever buy. As long as the couple knows that the gift came from you, and that you took the time and effort and spent that money on getting it for them, they will love it.
