How To Tastefully Decorate Your Outdoor Wedding In The Fall Season

dreamstime_3610889An outdoor wedding during the fall months can be stunning, and very easy to decorate for.  With all the help you will receive from Mother Nature and her richly colored foliage, all you need to do is accentuate the beauty that is already there and enjoy the specialness of your big day.

To stylishly accentuate all of the colors present in your natural surroundings, a fall outdoor wedding should contain rich, vibrant colors such as gold, burgundy, and possibly even orange.  More of a burnt orange, mind you, not bright tangerine orange.  Hues of brown also blend well in an outdoor wedding in the Fall.  Choosing a colored isle runner instead of the traditional white is one way to compliment nature.  Toss down a few leaves in traditional fall colors along the edges of the runner and you’ve got a wonderfully rustic feel immediately.

Because the weather may be somewhat unpredictable in the Fall, a fall outdoor wedding may be best held in a tent or canopy.  Renting a canopy or tent for your fall wedding will save you and your guests from discomfort due to unexpected rain or wind.  Tents oftentimes come with heaters as well, in the event of cooler temperatures.  Whether or not you want heaters for your outdoor fall wedding will be dependant upon the actual month in which your wedding is held.

Obviously, flowers are seasonal and therefore need to be researched a bit.  While some brides choose to use silk or unique dried flowers for their fall wedding décor, fresh flowers abound even in the fall months.  Roses are still quite a popular option for fall wedding flowers.  The most popular varieties of roses are Sari, which displays an apricot orange hue; Star 2000, which is a coral orange rose; Black Magic, a dark burgundy rose; and Red Berlin, a rose with a tomato red color.

Roses are not the only available flower for a Fall wedding, however.  Other popular options include Fall flowers such as Holly, Daphne, Iris, Winter Jasmine, and Amaryllis.  For centerpieces and special arrangements such as for the guestbook table, dried grasses, bowls of berries or small gourds all work wonderfully at complimenting what you’ve already been given to work with.

For the reception, tables can be decorated in the same colors used at the ceremony if the location is separate.  Centerpieces can be simple, with trays filled with fall themed potpourri or miniature sized pinecones and candles.  Place cards in fall themes are easy to find and can even be made at home.  Fall leaf place card holders can be found in metal, with no bells and whistles; just nice and elegantly simple.  Leaf place card holders can also contain just the right hints of color for those who prefer that.  Fall themed place card holders can also be made easily using Fall leaf cut-outs from a Scrapbooking store or site.  This is a great option for the Fall wedding on a budget.

A Fall wedding is a beautiful site.  Mother nature provides you with a backdrop that is close to perfect.  All you need to do is compliment the colors found in nature and you will be pleased with the look of your special day.
