We used Honeymoon Wishes for our registry. It was wonderful! We got $6,000 from family and friends- that's right, $6k!!! We had an amazing honeymoon and the appropriate start to our wedding, which we would NOT have been able to afford without the registry. We already lived together and didn't need another set of towels or dishes.

I tried to answer some of the questions posed in this article, hopefully this helps other brides ;)
How much does it cost to register? It was FREE, and we got a wedding registry to put details about our wedding, share the story of how we met and share photos.

How much is the service fee? I believe it was around 8% (like taxes), you can have it added to the transaction or taken out of the amount purchased so your guests never see the cost.

Are there any other fees to pay for? Nope, that was it.

What kind of services do you provide? We were able to email and print out registry cards to include in the invitations, plus the wedding website.

Do you help in the announcement of the registry? email and registry cards to design and print (nice options.

Are gifts redeemable in cash? Yep! We went on and requested our money several different times. We received a check in a couple days! It even helped with the deposit of our honeymoon :)

How would you notify use if a gift were purchased? We received an email. It was all very simple :)

This is the best idea ever! My fiance and I set up a honeymoon fund at MyRegistry.com just a few weeks ago and we have already been given enough money to cover the plane tickets to Aruba! What did we do before the Internet?

I forgot to add that even though it seems weird to ask guests for this no one actually minds. Friends and family have actually confided that they preferred contributing to something my fiance and I can enjoy rather than a boring toaster (like Stanley from The Office --haha)

What a great article! You make so many valid points about the practicality of a honeymoon registry. My fiance and I actually have a few traditional items on our wedding registry but we went with myregistry.com so that we could add two cash gift funds. The funds are for little extras on our honeymoon trip including a scuba diving adventure and a day at the spa at the hotel we've selected. These funds are pretty much the focal point of our registry and so far guests have been contributing which is definitely exciting. We already have all those standard kitchen items so it was the best route for us considering we want to celebrate our honeymoon in style :)
